Sharda Prasad Patel v. State Of U.P. And Others - WRIT - C No. 8769 of 2006 RD-AH 3427 (14 February 2006)
HON. SHISHIR KUMAR, J.
The grievance of the petitioner is that he has already submitted an application for arm license (rifle) on 11.8.2004. The police authority has also given a report in favour of the petitioner on 27.8.2004 and the same has been forwarded on 1.12.2005 but up till date the matter is pending for consideration before the competent authority i.e. respondent no.2. The respondent no.2 is sitting idle over the matter and has not passed any order.
I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the Standing Counsel. With the consent of the parties the writ petition is disposed of finally. In view of the facts and circumstances of the case respondent no.2 is directed to consider the application of the petitioner for grant of license on the basis of the recommendation of the police authority and shall pass an appropriate detailed and reasoned order according to law if possible within six weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order before him.
With these observations the writ petition is disposed of.
