Heard counsel for the parties and perused the record.
The petitioners are working as Revenue Inspectors in Jal Sansthan, Varanasi.
This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents-authorities to fix the salary of the petitioners in the pay scale of Rs. 1200-1800 and for a direction to the respondents to pay the arrears of the petitioners with effect from the issuance of the Government Order dated 19th August, 1996 (Annexure-1 to the writ petition).
The petitioners have also made several representations in this regard before the respondents-authorities, which have remained unactioned till date.
The only prayer of the counsel for the petitioners at this stage is that a direction may be issued to respondent no.1, Secretary, Nagar Vikas Anubhag, Government of U.P. Lucknow to decide the aforesaid representation of the petitioners dated 3.2.2006 within a time bound frame fixed by this Court.
The standing counsel has no objection to this prayer.
In the circumstances, the petition is disposed of finally with a direction to respondent no.1 to decide the aforesaid representation of the petitioner dated 3.2.2006 by a reasoned and speaking order, in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of submission of a certified copy of this order.
The petitioners shall file a certified copy of this order before respondent no.1 within two weeks from today.
