It is contended that inspite of grant of Letters of Administration under Section 278 of Indian Succession Act, 1923, in which the administration of the estate of Late (Km.) Shakuntala Asthana (deceased) of Saving Bank Account No.14144 with the State Bank of India, Gorakhpur of Rs.59,028.79 is also included,  the bank has not allowed the applicant to operate the account.   The matter was treated as non-contentious and the Letters of Administration was granted after payment of Court fees.  The State Bank of India is reminded of its statutory duties and to abide by the law.

Let the applicant approaches State Bank of India, Gorakhpur for operating the account.

The application is, accordingly, disposed of.
