At the time of hearing of the petition, the sole relief pressed by the learned counsel for the petitioner is for a direction upon the District Magistrate, Varanasi to decide the representation dated 21st February, 2006 (a copy of which has been annexed as annexure-7 to the writ petition).
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent nos. 1, 2 and 3 has stated that the said representation shall be decided expeditiously.
In view of the aforesaid statement, we dispose of this petition with a direction to the District Magistrate, Varanasi to dispose of the representation dated 21st February, 2006 filed by the petitioner expeditiously, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date a certified copy of the order is produced by the petitioner after hearing the petitioner and other persons interested, if there be any.
