By means of the present writ petition, the petitioner has challenged the show cause notice dated 17.12.2002 issued by the District Magistrate, Etah under section 17 of the Arms Act. It is not clear that the petitioner has filed any reply to the show cause notice. Petitioner is not able to inform that any order in pursuance of the show cause notice has been passed or not.
In the circumstances, petitioner is directed to file reply to the show cause notice. In case, if the reply is filed, the District Magistrate, Etah is directed to decide the reply within two weeks thereafter by a speaking order. In case if any order has been passed by the District Magistrate against the petitioner, it is open to the petitioner to file appeal under section 18 of the Arms Act.
With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
