This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide security guard (Gunner) to the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is a businessman and has been elected as a Member of Zila Panchayat, Banda and in connection with his business, he has to move from one place to other. He apprehends threat to his life, therefore, a Gunner be provided to him. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that the petitioner is ready to bear 100 percent expenses in case the Gunner is provided to him.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents has submitted that the matter may be referred to the Committee consisting of District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police constituted for this purpose.
In view of the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and in view of the fact that the petitioner is ready to bear the 100 percent expenses, we dispose of this writ petition requesting the learned Committee consisting the District Magistrate, Banda and the Superintendent of Police, Banda to consider the grievance of the petitioner, assess threat perception to him and pass appropriate order as early as possible.
