Heard counsel for the petitioners and the learned standing counsel appears for the respondents No. 1,2 and 3. Issue notice to respondent no. 4. Steps for service be taken within two weeks from today. Respondents may file counter affidavit within four weeks. List thereafter.
By this writ petition the petitioners have prayed for mandamus commanding the respondents not to harass the petitioner in regard to their marriage which took place on 8.2.2007. The petitioners' case in the writ petition is that both the petitioners are major and they were married on 8.2.2007 which marriage was also registered with the Registrar Marriages, Amrawati dated 12.4.2007. Photostat copy of the registration certificate has been filed as Annexure-1 to the writ petition . The petitioners' case is that the local police i.e. the respondents no. 2 and 3 are threatening the petitioners under the pressure of the respondent no. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioners stated that no first information report has been lodged against the petitioners. Both the petitioners have appeared before the Court as identified by their counsel and have stated that they have married with their own free will and want to live together.
Considering the facts of the present case ends of justice be served in directing the respondent no. 3 to take steps for protection of the lives of the petitioners in accordance with law.
