This writ petition is directed against a noticed dated 20.6.2007 whereunder the petitioner was called upon to show cause as to why his firearm licence be not cancelled and during this period the firearm licence of the petitioner has also been placed under suspension. It has been stated that the petitioner has already deposited his firearm with a licensed arm dealer. He questions the suspension of his firearm licence.
In the opinion of the court interest of substantial justice would be served if the petitioner is required to submit a reply to the notice within two weeks from today if not filed along with a certified copy of this order.
The District Magistrate on receipt of the reply shall conclude the proceedings initiated under the notice dated 20.6.2007 at the earliest possible preferably with a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is filed before him.
Writ petition stands disposed of.
