This writ petition is directed against an order of the District Magistrate, dated 10.3.2007 whereby a notice has been issued to the petitioner to show cause as to why on the charges noticed in the order itself his fire arm licence be not cancelled. During enquiry, under the said notice, the firm arm licence of the petitioner has been placed under suspension. Petitioner has submitted a reply to the notice so issued on 23.3.2007, he objects to the suspension of his licence pending enquiry.
In the opinion of the court interest of substantial justice would be served if the proceedings initiated under the notice dated 10.3.2007 are directed to be brought to their logical end in a time bound manner. It is accordingly directed that the District Magistrate shall conclude the proceedings under the notice dated 10.3.2007 at the earliest possible preferably within a period of four weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is filed before him.
Writ petition stands disposed of.
