Under notice dated 26.6.2007 the petitioner has been called upon to furnish explanation as to why his firearm licence be not cancelled with reference to the charges as noticed in the said letter. The fire arm licence has also been placed under suspension pending enquiry. The petitioner was granted 15 days time to submit his explanation. The petitioner has not filed any reply to the notice till date. Petitioner challenges the suspension of his fire arm licence pending enquiry.

In the opinion of the court interest of substantial justice would be served if the petitioner is permitted to submit his reply within 15 days from today along with certified copy of this order. On such a reply being filed the District Magistrate shall conclude the proceedings initiated against the petitioner within four weeks thereafter.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
