1. Heard Sri B.R. Mishra, learned counsel for the appellant.
2. Against the original order the appellant had filed an appeal to the appellate authority of the police department i.e. Deputy Inspector General of Police under Rule 20 of the U.P. Police Officer of Sub-ordinate Ranks (Disciplinary and Appeal) Rules, 1991. Thereafter, he filed writ petition making the grievance with respect to his service having been dispensed with. His service had been dispensed with on the ground that he was found to have consumed alcohol on several occasions in the office.
3. The appeal is not maintainable under Chapter 8 rule 5 of the High Court Rules, 1952 against an order passed by the Single Judge in exercise of writ jurisdiction from a matter arising from an order of an authority passed in appellate or revisional jurisdiction.
4. In the circumstances, the appeal is not maintainable and is accordingly, dismissed.
