This petition has been filed against the order of the District Magistrate Varanasi dated 24.9.2007 by which financial and administrative powers of the petitioner have been ceased. Reliance in the order has been placed upon an enquiry report of the Assistant District Panchayat Raj Officer. Various financial irregularities have been referred to in the order. Item No. 3 relates to financial irregularity in respect of construction of certain toilets and item no.5 relates to irregularity in expenditure on account of tree plantation. The order has been passed on the basis of enquiry report and no illegality in the said order has been demonstrated. No ground for interference has been made out.

Counsel for the petitioner then submitted that final enquiry may be completed within a time bound period.

In the facts and circumstances this writ petition is disposed of with the direction that the final enquiry may be completed expeditiously and if possible within a period of six months from the date a certified copy of this order is filed before the concerned respondent.
