Heard Sri Sabhajit Nishad, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel for the respondents.

The petitioner has made an application dated 22.12.06 (Annexure 9 to the writ petition) for grant of mining lease which according to the petitioner is pending before the respondent no. 2.

In the facts and circumstances of the case the respondent no. 2 is directed to decide the aforesaid application within a period of 6 weeks by a reasoned and speaking order, from the date of filing of a certified copy of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
