HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE OF ALLAHABAD

Hon'ble Ashok Bhushan, J.

Heard counsel for the petitioner.

By this writ petition  the petitioner has prayed for quashing the order dated 20.2.2007 passed by the Commandant  by which fine of 15 days' salary has been imposed. Under rule 20 of the U.P. Police Officers of Subordinate  Ranks (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991 the said order is appealable.  There  being statutory remedy of appeal the writ petition  of the petitioner cannot be entertained.  It is, however, observed that in case the petitioner  files an appeal within one month the same may be considered and decided within a period of three months in view of the fact that the matter  has earlier travelled upto revisional authority.

Subject to above the writ petition  is dismissed.
