Surinder Kaur v. State of Punjab and Ors - CRM-63561-M-2006 RD-P&H 10753 (17 November 2006)
CRL.M.No.63561-M of 2006
DATE OF ORDER:23.11.2006
State of Punjab and Others
CORUM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE M.M. AGGARWAL .*.*.*.
Present: Mr. Sachin Jain, Advocate.
Mr. G.S. Bhandari, DAG, Punjab.
Mr. Vishal Sharma, Advocate.
This is petition, filed by the complainant Surinder Kaur, for permission to compound the offence and for quashing FIR No.162 dated 19.12.2001 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC.
According to the petitioner, she has since compromised with the accused-respondents.
In view of the fact that this petition had been filed by Surinder Kaur herself at whose instance case was registered and she has CRL.M.No.63561-M of 2006 #2#
compromised with the accused-respondent and also that problem was basically matrimonial in nature, continuing of present FIR and proceedings will be just futile exercise and will not be in the interest of justice.
As such, this petition is accepted. FIR and proceedings arising out of the FIR shall stand quashed.
