Petitioners Sandip Singh and Gurpreet Kaur have filed this petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for issuing direction to SHO, Police Station City Kapurthala, to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondent No.2, father of petitioner No.2.

It has been alleged that the petitioners being major have solemnized marriage against the wishes of parents of petitioner No.2. They apprehend harassment and interference in their lives and liberty at the hands of respondent No.2.

After hearing counsel for the petitioners, this petition is disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioners file an application seeking protection before Deputy Superintendent of Police of the concerned area, he will look in the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law.
