The petitioner filed Crl.Misc.No.3172-M of 2006 which was disposed of by this Court on January 19, 2006 with a direction to the Director General of Police, Punjab "to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law." The Director General of Police was also directed to pass a speaking order on the representation made by the petitioner within one month of receipt of a certified copy of the order.
Alleging non-compliance of the aforesaid order, this contempt petition has been filed.
In response to the show cause notice, Smt.V.Neeraja, IPS Superintendent of Police (Crime), Punjab, has filed an affidavit which is taken on record. Along with the said affidavit she has appended a copy of the order dated 30.6.2006 passed by the Director General of Police, Punjab whereby the petitioner's representation has been considered and turned down.
In this view of the matter and keeping in view that the directions issued by this Court have been complied with, this petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to take an appropriate action before an appropriate forum, if so advised.
