Written statement on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 4 has been filed in the Court today and a copy thereof has been furnished to the learned counsel for the petitioner.
After perusing the written statement we find that the Director General of Police-respondent No. 2 has withdrawn the departmental inquiry for want of permission under rule 16.38 of the C.W.P. No. 11179 of 2006
Punjab Police rules, 1934. However, after following the procedure laid down in Rule 16.38, the departmental inquiry might be initiated.
The order dated 29.11.2006 to that effect has been attached with the written statement (R-1). Accordingly, the writ petition is rendered infructuous. Ordered accordingly.
