On 31.8.2006, a telegram was received in this Court sent by Arjun Singh alleging therein that his son Rachhpal Singh was illegally detained by the police of Police Station City Batala on 26.8.2006.

Pursuant to the notice, a reply has been filed on affidavit by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, City, Batala. The same is taken on record.

In the reply, it has been stated that said Rachhpal Singh was arrested in case FIR No.241 dated 29.8.2006 registered at Police Station Civil Lines, Batala under Sections 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act and FIR No.242 dated 29.8.2006 registered at the same Police Station under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act, and he was produced in the court on 30.8.2006 and remanded to judicial custody.

In view of the aforesaid reply, no further direction is required.

Dismissed.
