On the asking of the Court, Shri Aashish Rawal, Advocate for Shri Anupam Gupta, Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

Copies of the writ petition have been supplied to the learned counsel for the respondents.

The petitioner has been ordered to be disqualified vide order dated August 8,2006, Annexure P/3 for allegedly using unfair means while appearing in the examination conducted by the Punjab Technical University, respondent No.1.

Against the order Annexure P/3, the petitioner has already filed an appeal on August 29,2006 before the Appellate Authority but the aforesaid appeal remains undecided so far.

Learned counsel for the petitioner says that at this stage, the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the aforesaid authority to decided the appeal dated August 29,2006, annexure P/4 filed by the petitioner.

In this view of the matter, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, we dispose of the present petition with a request to the Vice Chancellor, Punjab Technical University, respondent No.1, to take a final decision on the aforesaid appeal (Annexure P/4) within a period of four weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is received, by passing a detailed and speaking order .

A copy of the order be given dasti on usual charges.
