CORAM:-HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE SURYA KANT.
SURYA KANT, J.
In deference to the order dated October 10, 2006, Shri Cheema, learned Sr.DAG, Punjab has filed an affidavit of Amardeep Singh, IPS Senior Superintendent of Police, Ludhiana, which is taken on record.
After going through the contents of the affidavit, especially the letter Annexure R-4, it appears that petitioner No.1 (Jatinder Singh) and his wife Surinder Pal Kaur (petitioner No.3) are having some civil and criminal dispute with Jatinder Singh's other brother and his wife. As such there appears to be no justification for granting any security to these two petitioners.
However, petitioner No.2, who is owner of the land in question which is allegedly sought to be grabbed by some senior police officers, needs to be provided police protection till the civil suit filed by him is decided by the Civil Court on merits. Consequently, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Assistant Director General of Police, Punjab (Crime and Security) to provide a police personnel to petitioner No.2 who should be from the cadre of the PAP. The needful shall be done within three days.
Let a copy of this order be handed over to Shri G.S.Cheema, learned Sr.DAG, Punjab, during the course of the day for information and necessary compliance.
