Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner moved an application dated 1.3.2005 (Annexure P1) seeking a contract carriage permit for operating a 7-seater tempo. Learned counsel also states that a representation dated 20.1.2006 (Annexure P3) was moved by the petitioner, requiring the respondents to adjudicate upon the application filed by him. It is, however, pointed out no action has been taken on either the application or the representation by the respondents till date.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner will be satisfied if the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Jalandhar, requiring him to take a final decision on the petitioner's application dated 1.3.2005 (Annexure P1).

Notice of motion.

On our asking, Mr. Ashok Aggarwal, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. Learned counsel for the respondents states that he has no objection to the disposal of the instant writ petition in terms of the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Jalandhar, to take a final decision on the application of the petitioner dated 1.3.2005 (Annexure P1) by passing a well reasoned speaking order within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

Disposed of accordingly.

Order dasti on payment of usual charges.
