On 26.10.1998, learned counsel for the petitioners sought an adjournment so as to enable him to file an application for impleading those general category candidates who were likely to be effected, in case the instant writ petition ultimately came to be accepted.
Despite the aforesaid request, no such application has been filed since the last approximately 8 years.
In view of the above, we are satisfied that the petitioner is no longer interested to pursue the instant writ petition, which is, accordingly, dismissed for reasons of non-prosecution.
