Notice of motion was issued in this writ petition on February 28, 2001, and the parties were directed to maintain status quo regarding possession till further orders. Subsequent thereto on May 7, 2002, this writ petition was admitted and ordered to be listed after decision by the Full Bench of this Court in C.W.P. No. 5877 of 1992. The Full Bench has decided the above said writ petition. Counsel state that similar directions, which were issued by the Full Bench in the said case, be issued in this writ petition as well and the writ petition be disposed of accordingly.
In view of very fair stand taken, this writ petition is disposed of in the same terms as in C.W.P. No. 5877 of 1992 (Jai Singh and others v.
State of Haryana and others). Liberty is granted to the petitioners to file application under Section 13-A of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regular) Act, 1961, before the competent authority within a period of three months from today. The Collector shall decide the application, if made, expeditiously and till that application is decided, parties shall maintain status quo regarding possession. It is made clear that if no application is filed within the period aforesaid, this writ petition shall be deemed to have been dismissed.
