Prem Kanta v. State of Punjab & Ors - CWP-5517-2006 RD-P&H 4065 (13 July 2006)
Civil Writ Petition No.5517 of 2000.
Date of decision : 20.7.2006.
Prem Kanta ...Petitioner.
State of Punjab and others ...Respondents.
Coram: Hon'ble Mr. Justice J.S.Khehar.
Hon'ble Ms. Justice Kiran Anand Lall.
Present: Mr.Balram Singh,Advocate,for the petitioner.
J.S.Khehar, J. (oral)
This matter came up for hearing as far back as on 22.5.2000, when a Division Bench of this court passed the following order:- "Let learned counsel for the petitioner
place additional information on the record as to when the junior persons to the petitioner were promoted as Headmistresses in the preceding three years from the date of filing of the petition. Their names be also indicated.
Adjourned sine die. As and when the
petitioner files the additional information, the case be put up for motion hearing."
Despite the passage of more than six years since this case was adjourned sine die, neither any additional information has been placed on the record of this case nor any application has been moved for reviving of the main case. Infact, learned counsel for the petitioner sates that the petitioner has not contacted him ever since the passing of the order dated 22.5.2000.
In view of the above, we are satisfied that the petitioner is no longer interested in pursuing the instant writ petition.
Dismissed for non-prosecution.
20.7.2006. (Kiran Anand Lall)
