The prayer made in the writ petition is for issuance of direction to the respondents to fix the pay of the petitioner in the scale of Rs. 525-105- w.e.f. 1.4.1979, Rs. 1400-2600 w.e.f. 1.1.1986 and Rs. 5000-7850 w.e.f. 1.1.1996 in accordance with sanction letters dated 10.10.1983, 26.11.1987 and 29.1.1988 (P-1, P-2 & P-3 respectively) with all consequential benefits. A further prayer has been made to grant the petitioner benefit of additional increment in 1992, benefit of Higher Standard Scale w.e.f. 1.1.1994 and ACP Scales w.e.f. 1.1.1996.

For the aforementioned relief claimed in the present writ petition, the petitioner has already sent a legal notice dated 29.3.2006 (P-6) to the respondents.

Without going into the merits of the case, we deem it just and appropriate to direct the respondents to take cognizance of the legal notice sent by the petitioner and decide the same expeditiously preferably within a period of four months from the date a certified copy of this order is presented to them. If the claim of the petitioner is found to be meritorious and decided in her favour then the benefit accruing to the petitioner shall be disbursed within a further period of three months thereafter. It shall be appreciated if a speaking order is passed.

Petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
