Shri Rajiv Sharma, Advocate, standing counsel for the Union of India, who is present in Court, accepts notice.
The petitioner claims that vide order dated October 19, 2005(Annexure P.5), Passport Authorities had rejected the application filed by the petitioner for issuance of a passport.
However, against the aforesaid order, the petitioner has already filed an appeal/representation to the Passport Officer, Regional Passport Office, Jalandhar, respondent No.3 on October 26,2005, but no action whatsoever has been taken on the said appeal/representation.
Consequently, without commenting upon in any way on the merits of the controversy, we dispose of the present petition with a direction to the Passport Officer, Regional Passport Office, Jalandhar, respondent No.3 to take a final decision on the aforesaid representation/appeal filed by the petitioner within a period of four months from the date a certified copy of this order is received, by passing a detailed and speaking order.
A copy of the order be given dasti on payment of usual charges.
