The petitioner is in custody for more than two years.
Counsel for the State says that the case is fixed for evidence on 23.3.2006 and in fact, one witness has already been examined.
In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on merits, no case is made out for grant of bail at this stage, but the trial court is directed to expedite the recording of evidence having regard to the fact that the petitioner has already been in custody for more than two years and conclude the trial, as far as possible, within six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The petition is dismissed.
