Jagtar Singh and others v. State of Punjab and another
CORAM:HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ADARSH KUMAR GOEL
Present:Mr. L.M.Gulati, Advocate for the petitioners.
Notice of motion to the respondent.
On the asking of the court, Mr. G.S.Bhandari, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State.
This petition has been filed for quashing on the basis of compromise.
Respondent No.2 is mother of petitioner No.1. She lodged FIR dated 16.2.2004, Annexure P.1, alleging that petitioner No.1 forged signatures of his late father and created a Will.
It is stated that subsequently, matter has been compromised on 15.6.2005 vide compromise deed, Annexure P.2 and respondent No.2 does not now wish to proceed against the petitioner in the criminal case.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the view that further proceedings in the FIR will not serve the ends of justice.
Accordingly, proceedings in FIR No.24 dated 16.2.2004 under sections 465/467/468/120-B IPC, Police Station Mehta, District Amritsar, are quashed.
The petition is disposed of.
