CORAM:- HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VINEY MITTAL
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE H.S.BHALLA
PRESENT: Shri Mukul Aggarwal, Advocate for the petitioners.
Viney Mittal,J.(Oral).
Notice of motion to the respondents.
On the asking of Court, Shri Mehardeep Singh, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
Copies of the writ petition have been supplied to the learned counsel for the respondents.
The petitioners have approached this Court for issuance of directions to the respondents to release the compensation amount claimed by the petitioners. It appears that an accident had taken place in Hari Ke Head on Feburary 14, 1998. The State Government had declared compensation with regard to the death of the persons in the aforesaid accident. The petitioners claimed that they are entitled to the aforesaid compensation but they have not been paid the aforesaid amount of compensation.
From the perusal of the record, we find that a legal notice dated October 14, 2005 (Annexure P.8) has been issued by the petitioners, which remains unresponded.
In this view of the matter, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioners, we dispose of the present petition with a direction to the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ferozpeur, respondent No.2 to take a final decision on the aforesaid legal notice (Annexure P.8) within a period of four months from the date a certified copy of this order is received, by passing a detailed and speaking order.
A copy of the order be given dasti on payment of usual charges.
