Head Constable Sohan Singh v. State of Punjab & Ors. - CWP-14222-2006 RD-P&H 6048 (28 August 2006)
In the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh.
CWP No. 14222 of 2006
Date of Decision: 7.9.2006
Head Constable Sohan Singh
State of Punjab and others.
Coram:- Hon'ble Mr.Justice J.S. Khehar.
Hon'ble Mr. Justice S.D. Anand.
Present: Mr. G.S. Mann, Advocate
for the petitioner.
J.S. Khehar, J. (Oral).
Through the instant writ petition, the petitioner desires the consideration of his claim under Rule 13.2 (A) of the Punjab Police Rules on account of the meritorious service rendered by him. The solitary grievance of the petitioner is, that although, he had issued a legal notice dated 12.7.2006 (Annexure P-3), yet no decision has been taken thereon by the respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioner states, that the petitioner will be satisfied, if the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ludhiana, requiring him to take a final decision on the legal notice dated 12.7.2006 (Annexure P-3).
In view of the above, without going into the merits of the claim raised by the petitioner, we consider it just and appropriate to dispose of the CWP No. 14222 of 2006 Page numbers
instant writ petition by directing respondent No.2 i.e. the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ludhiana, to take a final decision on the legal notice dated 12.7.2006 (Annexure P-3) by passing a well reasoned speaking order, within two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
Disposed of accordingly.
Order dasti on payment of usual charges.
