This petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution prays for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to fill up 20% reserved posts meant for Schedule Caste candidates in view of the policy dated 16.12.1980 (P-1) read with the Primary School (Group C) Service Rules, 1994 (P-2), in accordance with the seniority of scheduled castes applicants in the respective Districts, inasmuch as, the JBT cadre is a district cadre and also to maintain Roster point of reservation for S.C. applicants in the Inter- District Transfers of JBT teachers being effected w.e.f. 25.9.2006.

For the relief claimed in the instant petition, the petitioners have made a representation dated 21.9.2006 (P-5) to the respondents.

Without going into the merits of the case, we deem it just and appropriate to direct the respondents to take cognizance of the representation dated 21.9.2006 (P-5) sent by the petitioners and decide the same expeditiously preferably within a period of one month from the date a certified copy of this order is presented to them. It shall be appreciated if a speaking order is passed.

Petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
