This petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution prays for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to consider and finalise the claim of the petitioner for promotion as Executive Engineer as per his seniority with all consequential benefits and payment of arrears with 18% interest.
For the relief claimed in the instant petition, the petitioner has already sent representations dated 12.4.2006, 11.10.2006 and 19.10.2006 (P-4, P-5 & P-6).
Without going into the merits of the case, we deem it just and appropriate to direct the respondents to take cognizance of the C.W.P. No. 16980 of 2006
aforementioned representations sent by the petitioner and decide the same expeditiously preferably within a period of four months from the date a certified copy of this order is presented to them. It shall be appreciated if a speaking order is passed.
Petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
