One Rajwanti Devi sent a telegram to this Court alleging therein that her husband, namely, Ramesh Kumar was illegally picked up by Police of CIA staff Rohtak on 6.12.2006 and demanding bribe for his release.
Pursuant to the notice issued, reply on behalf of respondent- State has been filed in Court today and the same is taken on record. In the reply, it has been stated that a criminal case i.e. FIR No. 232 dated 23.4.2006 under Section 356 IPC was registered in Police Station Civil Lines, Rohtak on the complaint of one Ajay Kaul on the allegation that the gold chain of his wife was snatched by somebody. On the investigation, notice under Section 160 Cr.P.C. was issued to Ramesh Kumar for appearance on 4.12.2006. However, Ramesh Kumar was not found present at his house and that notice was received by his neighbourer Ram Kumar with an undertaking that he will produce Ramesh Kumar on 6.12.2006. Ramesh Kumar joined the investigation and interrogated.
During the course of interrogation, he disclosed that earlier he was working as Goldsmith and was dealing in the purchase of the stolen gold chains.
After making inquiries, Ramesh Kumar, husband of the petitioner was allowed to go. On the basis of the information given by him, some gold chains were recovered from third person.
In view of the aforesaid reply, no further direction is required to be issued.
Dismissed.
