Petitioner Chand Sibal has filed this petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for quashing of FIR No. 89 dated 17.7.2006 under Sections 406/498-A/120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Haibowal, Ludhiana, on the basis of compromise.
Petitioner is present in court today. He states that due to some mis-understanding, the aforesaid FIR was got registered by his wife and now he has assured his wife that in future, no harassment will be caused to her by him or any of his family members. In view of the said assurance, now the husband and wife are living together happily.
Counsel for the respondent-State, after having instructions from Vinod Kumar ASI, submits that in view of the amicable settlement between the parties, the police has already prepared untraced report. He further states that this report will be presented before the court within one month.
In view of the aforesaid compromise between the parties and the fact that the police is going to submit cancellation report in the court, counsel for the petitioner states that he does not want to press this petition at this stage.
Dismissed as not pressed at this stage.
