The petitioner who belongs to the Last Grade Service has staked a claim for appointment to the post of Mechanic in the Fisheries Department. It is stated that he possesses the requisite qualifications as he is a Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering and a certificate holder in Refrigeration and Air- conditioning.
2. These facts have already been brought to the notice of the 2nd respondent through Exts. P3 and P4 representations. Since no decision has been taken, at any rate, the petitioner not having been informed of the response of the 2nd respondent to the request made by him, the petitioner has approached this Court.
3. Having heard counsel for the petitioner and Govt. Pleader for the respondents, I think that it would be just and proper that the 2nd respondent is directed to pass orders on Ext. P4 as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, before the post of Mechanic is filled up. Ordered accordingly. The order passed on WPC No.31252 /2006 -2- Ext. P4 shall be communicated to the petitioner. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the judgment along with a copy of the writ petition before the 2nd respondent for compliance. K.K. DENESAN
