JUDGMENT

V.K.Bali,C.J.(Oral) Petitioner who is an Advocate practising at Alappuzha has filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India by way of public interest litigation seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to fill up the vacancies of Presidents of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forums in various districts. On notice Mr.T.B.Hood, learned Government Pleader had instructions to make a statement. He states that in Kollam, Alappuzha, Malappuram and Kasaragod proceedings for appointment of Presidents are almost complete and appointments indeed shall be made within three weeks from today. In so far as Kottayam and Wayanad districts are concerned, it is stated that the moment the Government may receive a panel of names from the High Court, the Government will take two months to make  W.P.(C) No.29581/2006 2 the appointments.
