DATED THIS THE 15th DAY OF JUNE, 2007
The petitioner's vehicle bearing registration No.KL-10-R 506 has been seized by the respondents on allegations of transportation of river sand illegally. The petitioner seeks interim custody of the vehicle pending passing of final orders by the 3rd respondent.
2. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as also the learned Government pleader. In the facts and circumstances of the case, there would be a direction to the 3rd respondent to pass final orders in the matter expeditiously. Pending passing of final orders, the vehicle shall be released to the petitioner on his paying an amount of Rs.25,000/- and producing proof of ownership of the vehicle. This is subject to further condition that the petitioner shall not alienate or otherwise part with possession of the vehicle, till final orders are passed by the 3rd respondent. The writ petition is disposed of as above.
