1. MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY,
For Petitioner :SRI.JOHN JOSEPH(ROY)
For Respondent :SRI. T.A. SHAJI, SC, M.G.UNIVERSITY
The Hon'ble MR. Justice S.SIRI JAGAN
O R D E R
S. SIRI JAGAN, J.W.P.(C)NO. 19534 OF 2007
DATED THIS THE 11th DAY OF JULY, 2007
The petitioners were students of Pre-degree Course prior to 1993. The Pre-degree Course itself was abolished on introduction of plus two courses. The petitioners could not pass the examination since they failed in one subject each. The Kerala Univesity continued to conduct the examinations for Pre-degree Course up to 2006. The petitioners now seek a direction to the University to give them one more chance to write the examination.
2. The learned standing counsel for the University submits that the University cannot indefinitely go on conducting examination for the Pre-degree Course, which has stopped long ago. I am of opinion that this Court cannot compel the University to conduct the examination in respect of those students, who could not pass the examination even after fourteen long years. Therefore, I do not find any merit in this writ petition. Accordingly, the same is dismissed.
