IN THE HIGH COURT OF KERALA AT ERNAKULAMWP(C) No. 10808 of 2007(J)
1. P.C.THOMAS, S/O.CHACKO,
1. THE REGIONAL TRANSPORT AUTHORITY,
2. THE STATE TRANSPORT APPELLATE TRIBUNAL,
For Petitioner :SRI.SAJU J.VALLYARA
For Respondent :GOVERNMENT PLEADER
The Hon'ble MR. Justice S.SIRI JAGAN
O R D E R
S. SIRI JAGAN, J.W.P.(C)NO.10808 OF 2007
DATED THIS THE 17th DAY OF JULY, 2007
The petitioner applied for concurrence for renewal of a regular stage carriage permit on the route Koorachundu - Palakkad as Limited Stop Ordinary Service which was rejected on the ground that being only an Ordinary Service, permit cannot be issued, since the route length exceeds 140Kms. It is not disputed before me that if the route length exceeds 140 Kms, no permit can be issued as Limited Stop Ordinary Service. The petitioner now confines his submission for consideration of his application for a higher class of service. The petitioner submits that this Court has in similar cases directed such consideration. After hearing the learned Government pleader also, I dispose of this writ petition with the following directions. The petitioner shall submit a modified proposal for permit within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. If the same is received, the 1st respondent shall consider the same in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders expeditiously.
