K.R. UDAYABHANU, J.CRL.R.P.NO.247 of 2000 Dated 18th July, 2007.
ORDERRevision petitioner stands convicted for the offence under section 420 I.P.C and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for 7 days and to pay a compensation of Rs.62,000/- vide section 357 (3) Cr.P.C. and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for 3 months. It is also ordered that out of the amount if remitted, Rs.60,000/- shall be paid to the complainant as compensation.
2. Counsel for the revision petitioner has only sought for modification of the sentence. In the circumstances, the sentence is modified to imprisonment till the rising of the court. Rest of the sentence is confirmed. Revision petitioner is granted two months time from today onwards to remit the amount. The revision petitioner shall appear before the J.F.C.M, Chavakkad on 25-9-2007 to receive the sentence. The Crl.R.P is disposed of accordingly. (K.R.UDAYABHANU)
