S.M.MEERAN @ ALIMSHA v. INTELLIGENCE OFFICER - Bail Appl No. 4326 of 2007 RD-KL 15804 (16 August 2007)
IN THE HIGH COURT OF KERALA AT ERNAKULAMBail Appl No. 4326 of 2007()
1. S.M.MEERAN @ ALIMSHA,
1. INTELLIGENCE OFFICER,
For Petitioner :SRI.G.SUDHEER
For Respondent :PUBLIC PROSECUTOR
The Hon'ble MR. Justice R.BASANT
O R D E R
R.BASANT, J.B.A.No.4326 of 2007
Dated this the 16th day of August 2007
O R D E RApplication for regular bail. The learned Standing Counsel for the Narcotics Control Bureau reports that the expert has already prepared the report and the same is now processed and being forwarded to the court concerned. The petitioner faces allegations under the N.D.P.S.Act. The quantity involved is neither commercial quantity nor small quantity. Earlier, another Bench of this court has considered the application for regular bail and has held that the petitioner is not entitled for regular bail and the trial deserves to be completed expeditiously.
2. I find no reasons at this stage to take any different view. I am certainly of the opinion that the learned Judge must complete the trial as expeditiously as possible after getting the report from the expert. I expect the learned Judge to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible at any rate within a further period of two months from this date. If, in the meantime, the trial is not complete and the final disposal is not made, the option of the petitioner to approach this court again for bail shall remain unfettered.
3. This petition is accordingly dismissed with the above observations.
