K.K.DENESAN, JW.P.(C)NO.3239 of 2007
Dated this the 12th day of February, 2007
Heard counsel for the petitioner and standing counsel for respondents 1 to 3.
2. The petitioner retired from the service of the respondents while working as Senior Manager, Higher grade. It is stated that he has not been paid terminal benefits though his date of retirement is 31.3.2006. Counsel for the respondents submits that certain proceedings are pending in regard to the over valuation of property offered as security by loaners and that the petitioner was served with notice on 7.6.2004 to take appropriate action.
2. Having regard to the proceedings now pending against the petitioner, it would be appropriate that the second respondent looks into the grievance of the petitioner, as highlighted in Ext.P2, so that the dispute relating to the claim for W.P.(C)No. 3239/2007 :2: terminal benefits can be settled, as early as possible. The writ petition, is therefore, disposed of directing the Managing Director of the first respondent to pass orders on Ext.P2 within six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the judgment. The proceedings pending against the petitioner shall be expedited, so that there will be an early settlement of the claim for terminal benefits.
