O R D E R

The revision petitioner stands convicted for the offence under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and sentenced, as modified by the Sessions Judge, to undergo simple imprisonment for 15 days and to pay a compensation of Rs. 51,000/- under section 357 (3) Cr.P.C and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for 45 days.

2. The counsel for the revision petitioner has sought only for modification of sentence and for time to pay the amount of compensation. In the circumstances, the sentence is modified to imprisonment till rising of the court and to pay the compensation as ordered by the court below. The revision petitioner is granted two months time from today onwards to pay the amount of compensation less the amount already deposited. The revision petitioner shall appear before the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Perumbavoor on 16.04.2007. The Crl. R.P. is disposed of accordingly.
