The petitioner belongs to the category of Junior Superintendent. It is stated that he has special knowledge in Tamil language and will be a suitable person to work in places where Tamil is the predominantly spoken language among the members of the local people. Based on the provisions contained in rule 9(d) of KS&SSR, he has filed Ext.P1 representation before the respondent requesting to promote him to the post of Special Grade Secretary. Learned counsel for the petitioner invites my attention to Ext.P3 order passed by the respondent in the case of one K.M.Shaji Mohanan. It is submitted that having regard to relevant aspects and particularly, in view of the number of vacancies referred to in paragraph - 3 of the writ petition, similar order may be passed in the case of the petitioner also,

3. The respondent shall pass orders on Ext.P1 in the light of Rule 9(d) of KS&SSR, government orders on the subject and Ext.P3 order passed by the respondent. This shall be done within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of the judgment. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the judgment along with a copy of the writ petition before the respondent for information and compliance. The writ petition is disposed of as above.
