The petitioner retired from the service of the Corporation of Kochi (respondent No.1) on 31.3.2006 while working as Sweeper. He has prayed for the following reliefs:
i) issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, direction or order directing the respondents to pay gratuity, commuted value of pension, arrears consequent to revision of pay and grade fixation within the time fixed by this Hon'ble Court ii) issue an order directing the first respondent to pay monthly pension with arrears forthwith;
2. Despite adjournment granted, no counter affidavit has been filed. None appears for the respondent Corporation.
3. From the attitude of the respondent-Corporation, it is to be presumed that the respondent has no dispute about the claims W.P.(C)No.26258/2006 :2: made by the petitioner in this writ petition. On going through the averments in the writ petition, I feel that the petitioner is entitled to the reliefs. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to pay gratuity, commuted value of pension, arrears consequent on revision of pay and grade fixation within two months from the date of receipt of a copy of the judgment.
