O R D E R

The learned A.S.G.I., on instructions, submits that the petitioner shall be at liberty to surrender his passport before the Embassy of India at Abudhabi and submit an application for issue of a duplicate passport showing the reasons thereof. The needful shall be done by the officials at the Embassy to issue duplicate passport to the petitioner in accordance with law.

2. The petitioner's passport is required to facilitate investigation into the genuineness/forgery of the endorsement of "emigration clearance not required" in the passport. The officials of the Embassy must also co-operate so that the investigation into the crime can proceed expeditiously. The original passport of the petitioner shall be produced before the learned Magistrate by the petitioner immediately after it is returned to him or the same can be forwarded to the learned J.F.C.M., Malappuram by the Embassy officials. The passport shall be surrendered by the petitioner before the Embassy within a period of 45 days from this date and intimation given to the learned Magistrate of such surrender.
