O R D E RThe revision petitioner stands convicted for the offence under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years and to pay a fine of Rs.5,000/- and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of six months.
2. The counsel for the revision petitioner has only sought for modification of sentence. It is submitted that the revision petitioner/accused is right now aged 72 years. It appears to be true from the verification of the records. The incident had taken place in 1993. In the circumstances, the sentence is modified to imprisonment till rising of the court and to pay a compensation of Rs.25,000/- to PW1 and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for six months. The Criminal Revision Petition is disposed of accordingly.
