O R D E RThe revision petitioner stands convicted for the offence under Sec. 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and sentenced, to undergo simple imprisonment for the period of one year and to pay a sum of Rs. 50,000/- as compensation vide Sec. 357(3) Cr.P.C. and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for further period of three months more.
2. The revision petitioner has sought for modification of sentence and for time to pay the amount of compensation. In the circumstances, the sentence is modified to imprisonment till rising of the Court. The remaining portion of the sentence is confirmed. The revision petitioner is granted three months time to pay the amount of compensation from today onwards. The revision petitioner shall appear before Judicial First Class Magistrate - II, Harippad on 25/06/2007 to receive sentence. The Criminal R.P. is disposed of accordingly.
