ORDERThe revision petitioner stands convicted for the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and sentenced, as modified by the appellate court, to undergo imprisonment till the rising of the court and to pay a sum of Rs.1,80,000/- as compensation to the complainant under Section 357(3)Cr.P.C. and in defualt to undergo simple imprisonment for one month. Counsel for the revision petitioner has only sought for time to pay the compensation amount. In the circumstances, the conviction and sentence is confirmed. The revision petitioner is granted six months time to pay the amount of compensation less the amount in deposit, if any. The revision petitioner shall appear before the Judicial First Class Magistrate-I, Thiruvananthapuram on 24-4-2007 to receive sentence. The Crl.revision petition is disposed of accordingly.
